What time is same-day shipping available?

Same-day shipping applies to orders placed by 1:00 PM, as a general rule. However, please note that due to weather conditions or the absence of staff, shipping may be delayed to the following day. Thank you for your understanding.

Is time-specific delivery possible?

Where can I test playing the shakuhachi?

Test playing is available at a musical instrument store near Omiya Station.

Do you sell moisture wipers for shakuhachi?

We have a limited number of handmade moisture remover available. If you would like one, we can include it for free—please let us know when placing your order.

How much are customs duties and VAT?

Let's say you sent a package (680g) to France with the value listed as 60,000 yen.

Taxable amount : 60,000 yen + 3,000 yen (EMS shipping fee) + 150 yen (insurance)

Customs duty : 63,150 yen x 3.2% = 2,020 yen

VAT : (63,150 yen + 2,020 yen) x 20% = 13,034 yen

Estimated customs duty + VAT amount : 15,054 yen

Is it possible to repair it?

We offer a brokerage service exclusively for shakuhachi purchased from our store.

Do you ship internationally without EMS?

The shipping cost will be higher, but if you are willing to cover it, please contact us via chat or the inquiry form.

Please tell me how to store it.

The shakuhachi can develop cracks if it becomes too dry, and mold may occur if there is too much humidity. The ideal humidity level is 40–60%. We recommend the following care tips:

  • Prevent dryness by playing the shakuhachi regularly.
  • After playing, clean the inside of the flute with a gauze (or cloth) to remove excess moisture and prevent mold.
  • Wipe the surface dry and store the shakuhachi in the plastic bag provided by our store.
  • Keep it in a room where the humidity is maintained at 40–60%.

Which shakuhachi is best for beginners?

For those new to the shakuhachi, we recommend a lightweight model that is priced under 150,000 yen, 1.8 sun, 5–7 gauge in thickness, and weighs less than 380g. Its balanced weight makes it perfect for beginners, offering ease of play and comfort even during extended practice sessions.
